UKN Group launches IT Policy and Governance package specifically designed for the National Health Service.

October 1, 2009

UKN today launched its latest NHS focused service, providing documentation and policy guidance to help relevant organisations implement robust and effective technology usage policies, in line with the requirements of ISO27001. The service has been designed to be low in cost, fast to implement and flexible to the needs of a range of different healthcare organisations.

An Information Governance framework is the ideal solution for Primary Care Trusts, Mental Health Trusts and Strategic Health Authorities that may have gaps in their existing set of policy documents or where clear relationships between current policies are limited.

UKN has found through working with the NHS, that Information Governance is all too often an un-ticked box for some organisations and therefore, a risk. With this in mind, the service will help NHS organisations to quickly compile a comprehensive set of relevant documents with a minimum of fuss.

The document set is compiled following an initial consultation and can be updated or amended to account for changes in internal policy or up -to-date with government guidlines.

Policies are split into three main sub-headings:

  • Computer Usage Policy eg. Email Usage, Data Storage, Remote Working
  • Information Management Policy eg. Freedom of Information, Data Protection
  • Infrastructure Management Policy eg. Anti-Virus, Encryption, Backup
