ukngroup awarded Sun Microsystems 'New Business Partner of the Year'
December 10, 2007
UKN Group has been named "New Business Partner of the Year" at the Sun Microsystems CxO Awards in recognition of their outstanding achievements during 2007.
Their invaluable contribution has been hallmarked by efforts to create a fully supported, end-to-end solution for organisations facing the challenge of replacing traditional desktop PCs with lower cost thin-clients.
The annual awards were presented at a gala dinner in Mayfair on Thursday November 29th by Sun Microsystems' President and Managing Director for UK and Ireland, Kim Jones, and Director of Partner Sales for UK and Ireland, Paul Flannery.
The UKN Group approach establishes a number of best-of-breed technologies under the umbrella of a fully managed desktop service. These include Sun Ray 2 ‘ultra’ thin-clients from Sun Microsystems and a full complement of market leading virtualisation products from the likes of Microsoft and VMWare.
Successful completion of their latest project at the Rural Payments Agency has seen the largest UK deployment of Sun Ray Ultra Thin-Clients to date and has demonstrated an exciting opportunity for other central government organisations to follow suit.
"We are extremely pleased to have received recognition from one of our key industry partners and are looking forward to another year of exciting innovation around this emerging technology", said Paul Foster, ukngroup’s Commercial Director.
"Through strategic alignment with companies like Sun, we are strengthening their brand proposition and creating real world solutions to current challenges within enterprise IT as a result.
