NHS London goes live with new "Follow Me" print solution from UKN Group.
January 17, 2009
NHS London have signed up to a high-tech "Follow Me" printing solution, one of the newest services available from UKN Group. The adoption follows a successful trial involving 100 users with access to 3 Multi-Function devices. The new printers are installed with an innovative interface that lets users send print jobs into a queue from a thin client terminal, but holds the printing until the user swipes their card at any of the supported machines. Localised printing is one of the key issues associated with delivering a fully functioning server based solution, this technology is fully integrated with NHS systems to track usage and allows improved auditing and accountability of printer usage.
UKN Group have worked with senior staff to align their IT strategy to ongoing changes in the organisation and to build on the solid base of their fully hosted and managed service. NHS London provide and co-ordinate essential healthcare services throughout Greater London and are focused on reducing health inequalities and helping the people get access to the support and care they require.
