Follow-Me Printing

Follow-Me document management technology can securely route documents to any device anywhere in your organisation - across servers, departments or locations. At the same time, you can track all printing activity, reduce waste and contain costs, however large your enterprise.

Instead of sending a print job to a specific printer on a network, the Follow Me system allows users to retrieve their print jobs from any networked device. Documents are sent into a central queuing system and quickly streamed to a device when the owner identifies themself at a printing terminal using either a pin code, smartcard or RFID token.

UKN Group can integrate a secure, roaming print solution as a managed service, or as an additional component to Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDi) or Server Based Computing systems. It is also the ideal solution for regulating printing costs, with localised auditing for all printer and copiers usage that automatically generates reports for individual users, cost centres, cost codes, and devices.

Main benefits of a "Follow-Me" printing solutions:

  • Enhances security by releasing documents only when users are physically at the printer
  • Promotes mobility by allowing users to release documents at any convenient printer, anywhere in your organisation
  • Reduces waste by eliminating unclaimed printing and adding the accountability that encourages users to print only the documents they actually need
  • Supports popular ID systems for simple authentication
  • Can be integrated into multi-vendor environments
