IT outages - hitting the headlines again

IT outages, the result of outdated infrastructure and poor strategies for IT resilience, disaster recovery and compliance, are increasingly making headlines across various industries.

The US federal government has issued letters to the CEO of United Airlines, asking whether the company could have prevented the recent IT failure that led to the grounding of hundreds of flights, and shows that uninterrupted IT is vital for law makers and should be for compliance-heavy industries like air travel, healthcare and financial services.

2016 saw outages, ransomware attacks and data breaches for businesses and 2017 will probably be no different; so businesses need to be prepared, and have a recovery strategy to maintain critical business operations during this type of event.
